Maihaugen is a cultural-historical museum. We document, preserve, research and disseminate human life in its history. An important part of Maihaugens work is to collect historical sources as objects, photographs, films, archives and books.
Our object collection tells about our material culture and everyday life in the walley of Gudbrandsdalen from the 1600 century through the present day
Maihaugen has one of the country's biggest and best weapons collections. In the collection there are weapons back to 1500, as the world's oldest revolver from 1597, and other weapons right up to our own time.
Primus is a database designed to detect objects and photographs. Do you want information about the museum objects? Now, parts of the collection available to all. You can even search for objects and photographs from the museum's databases.
