Maihaugen produces several exhibitions a year. The museum exhibitions should interest adults and children, provide experiences and knowledge.
Norway is a small country and has never played a decisive political role in European historiy. This exhibithion reflects that fact. It portrays the everyday lives of the people who have inhabited our country over the millenia. It is an important history.
30 different workshops for different crafts, including the dental office of Dr. Anders Sandvig, founder of Maihaugen.
Traditional folk art: wood carving, decorative (”rose”) painting, textiles, metal work.
Every Norwegian stamp issued since 1855 until the present on display.
